Obituary of Stephen Elias Kopiec

Stephen Elias Kopiec was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 18, 1942 to Stephen Michael Kopiec and Annie Pagut and has two surviving siblings, Anastasia and Michael. Stephen graduated from Lafayette High School, Brooklyn, in 1959. After he graduated from the New York Institute of Technology, he joined the U.S. Army where he was assigned to the 123D Maintenance Battalion of the 1st Armored Division (Old Ironsides), Fort Hood, Texas as a company clerk, SP5 E5. He received a medal as a rifle sharp shooter. In 1967, he joined Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company as a computer programmer and retired from JP Morgan Chase as a Vice President in 1995. In 1970, Stephen married Margaret Kimmins and together they adopted two children - Stephen Thomas Kopiec and Catherine Marie Kopiec. The family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1997. They were blessed with a son-in-law Gabriel and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Isabella. Stephen passed away on January 19, 2021. He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren. Stephen's funeral mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday 2/20 at 10AM. Then he will be laid to rest at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona.
