Obituary of Stephen Michael Timarac

Steve was very active in sports throughout his high school and college years. He excelled in football and when he left West High School he attended Phoenix College on a football scholarship. In 1964 he was the Co-Captain at Phoenix College and was an anchor of the Defense that was instrumental in Phoenix College becoming the NJCAA National Champions by defeating Oklahoma Military Academy 41-13 in Savannah Georgia at the NJCAA Shrine Bowl Game. Steve went on to ASU on a football Scholarship and was selected to the Western Athletic Conference All-Conference Team as a defensive end in 1966. He was an active member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at ASU. Steve joined the United States Air Force and served in the Arizona Air National Guard from 1967-1973 completing his service as a Tech Sargent. He graduated from ASU in 1968 and became a long time employee for Valley National Bank as their corporate trust officer. Steve went on to become the administrator for Gallagher and Kennedy law firm for many years and also worked for the Arizona Bar Association, Special Olympics and retired from the Arizona Motor Vehicle Department. As a life-long Arizona resident he was involved with the Arizona Humane Society as a board member and supporter. Throughout his life he lived it to the fullest and his many endeavors kept him in touch with friends who had the same interests. Lifelong friends from elementary school through college and neighbors as he was growing up still kept in touch. His hobbies, if you can call them that, as he jumped into all of his activities with a passion, meant more and more friends along the way. Woodworking, stained glass, metal drills, lathes, welding equipment, Harley's, quads, motorcycles, fishing, VW renovation, campers, sailboats, single engine airplane (he passed the tests necessary to be a twin-engine commercial pilot), ham radio operator, Morse code select member, bird breeding, cast iron cooking, air rifle competition, fast draw competition, train set builder/operator, remote control plane builder and operator, Pen/Pencil set designer/manufacturer, fragrant soap maker. He shared and gave gifts of many of his creations to folks. Whatever Steve set his sights on he accomplished and shared his joy with others. He touched so many people who always looked forward to the time they could spend with him. He loved animals and many of his emails included photos of wildlife and, of course, his beloved pets, Maggie, P-Nut, and Matty. May you rest in peace my friend, our friend In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Steve's name to: Arizona Humane Society 1521 W Dobbins Road Phoenix, AZ 85041 A celebration of Steve's life will be September 20th starting at 11:00 at: The Cedars 1702 E Northern Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85020
