Obituary of Helen Eloise Rusinek

Helen E. Rusinek, 97, passed away on November 15th in Phoenix, AZ. Helen was a wife, mother, and grandmother, above all else. She loved her family and kept her family "front and center" throughout her life. She was funny, loving and giving by nature. Helen lived her life joyfully, which was the key to her longevity. She was born in Washington, PA to parents Lottie Espey and Harold Ballentyne. She moved to Phoenix in the 40s and married Joseph A. (Red) Rusinek. They had two children, Robert Joseph, and Sandra Lee. As a young mother, she was a stay-at-home Mom, but also helped her husband Red, with their small business, a dry-cleaning service as the seamstress. After Red's death in 1975, she went to work at American Express and St. Paul's Insurance doing secretarial and administrative work. In retirement, she lived in Ahwatukee close to her children and grandchildren. She made many new friends in her retirement community and enjoyed life. She is survived by her children Robert (Sheree) Rusinek, Sandra (Paul) Wilson, and grandkids: Joe Rusinek, Kelsee Rusinek, Sierra Wilson, Sedona Wilson, and Parker Wilson. Her funeral services will be private. Remembrance contributions can be made in her memory to Arizona Humane Society, or the Alzheimer's Association.
