Obituary of Richard B DaSalla

Richard was a faithful servant of Jehovah who fell asleep in death on October 25, 2021. He was born to Pablo and Virginia DaSalla on May 21, 1947. He was married to Georgina Carter on October 7, 1965, they were married 56 years and together for 61 years and had 6 children. Richard was always a hardworking man. At 10 years of age, he made a shoeshine box out of grape crates and would shine shoes at the pool hall where his father worked saving his earned money in glass jars. Using some of the money to eat at his favorite Chinese restaurant, Sing High. In his high school years, he worked with his father's friends in the fields, where he picked and packed lettuce and grapes, using his money to buy his school clothes and books. (When is his sister didn't steal his money!) After marrying, he worked many jobs to support his wife and all his kids, finally retiring from Honeywell after 25 years. He always made sure his family had what they needed both materially and spiritually. Richard loved having a good time, traveling with family and friends, especially taking his family camping. He would load up his truck with bicycles, tents, and everything he could possibly think of that he would need, prompting his brother Eddie to tell him, "Bro where's the kitchen sink!". Another place he loved taking his family to was Rocky Point to camp near the beach, he would set up campfires and the family enjoyed the fireworks show that he would provide, it was so beautiful! He also loved dancing, not only with his wife, but with his daughter Tricia, and his daughter-in laws, Mayra and Norma. He loved his children very much and was so happy to see them! When they were little, he gave them all nick names and he always included them in his prayer. He was a proud grandpa, whenever they would ask how many grandchildren he had, he would say with a big smile "we have fifteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren". Richard was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 16, 1971. He was a spiritual man that loved his God Jehovah, he was "conscious of the spiritual need" through deep study of the scriptures and enjoyed sharing that knowledge with others. He loved the friends and always taking a personal interest in others, calling them by their first name. He had many theocratic privileges, as a ministerial servant, elder, conducting bible studies, aiding several into the truth, giving talks at circuit assembles, privilege of serving as a regular pioneer, having parts in several bible costume dramas, serving where the need was great in Kentucky and joy in the jail ministry. While experiencing many health challenges, his faith and hope in God's promise of a paradise earth brought him much comfort, even in his most difficult last days. Richard is survived by his wife Georgina, children, (preceded in death) Lisa Marie Castillo, Tricia Ann Brown (Stephen Brown), Richard Anthony DaSalla (Cassandra DaSalla), Pablo Edwardo DaSalla (Sasha DaSalla), Celestino DaSalla (Mayra DaSalla) and Michael Xavier DaSalla (Norma DaSalla). Fifteen grandchildren, Genevieve Castillo, David Castillo, Michelle Castillo, Stefan Brown, Gabriel Brown, Rachel Brown, Seth DaSalla, Sabrina DaSalla, Marc DaSalla, Rose DaSalla, Alyssa DaSalla, Andrew DaSalla, Xavier DaSalla, Daniel DaSalla, and Leilani DaSalla.
